moving!

well, as you can see I'm having a bit of insomnia again, thank you Meno Pause! I love it, sleep just fine from 11 till 4am, then lay awake for an hour, then finally get back to sleep and want to sleep way past the normal time to get up. Suck City, boys and girls.
on to the reason for the posting! we have finally, finally gotten moved into our new apartment which being a 2 bed with a den (and laundry!) is much much larger than our old one bed bachelor pad! Now, it was a fine place to live, if you were a bachelor or a couple with no children, but for a family it was a bit crowded! Poor Patrick had to go to sleep every night in our bed, then around 11 or 12 get woken up to move to the couch, poor kid! he was a real trooper through it all though. He is exceedingly glad to have his own bedroom, even if it is taking us three evenings to get his bed put together! it's a loft-type bed where he can have his desk underneath, he's really excited about it. His room is nearly as big as ours is and he has the second bath off of his room. of course it connects with the living room, but he's just glad he doesn't have to wait to go pee any more. Me too! Here is Patrick standing in front of the model at IKEA, they have it made up as a bunkbed, but his won't have the second bed on the bottom. He is also eagerly awaiting the setup of his first computer, which will happen within the next month or so I think. He's just dying to be able to play all those internet games he likes so much! Grammy, care for some Zuma?
Speaking of Grammy, he sure misses her and grandpa! Grammy sent him a huge teddy bear for christmas, and he named it Tex, since we had only been here for a few days when it arrived:

As you can see, Tex is huge!
My library is getting ready for a renovation soon, either in April or in August, depending on when the money can be released/grabbed, whatever.
Now that we are moved the drive to work is much shorter, by about 15 minutes! which is a good thing!
I will take some pics of the new place when we get everything set up where it belongs. My goal for the new year is to get my craft stuff down to only what will fit in my "craft cabinet" which is an armoire that lives in the dining room at present. It will take some doing, and of course the woodworking tools must be left out of the equation, but if I can get the indoor stuff down that far, leaving out the wood tools the big looms and the potters wheel, we will be in good shape. I'd love to have some clay to play with, especially since it's warm enough to be outside just about all the time down here. the last few days it has been sunny and 75 degrees. absolutely beautiful!
as far as knitting goes, I'm spending more time working on learning spanish right now than I am on knitting, but that doesn't mean I'm not knitting at all! I am working on a little baby dress out of MinnowKnits, and i am doing it in a very pretty heathery purple alpaca. it's so soft! it will be perfect for those winter parties! And if Jill doesn't have a girl, then someone will! I need to be working on some tiny baby things, but just havent' been able to decide! so, you tell me, what should i make for my sisters baby, due in July?
