busy busy busy

Well, I've been pretty busy lately. I finally started on and made my sock for my sock-blocker keychain, it's pink, of wildfoote, in honor of Lilly my new little neice. (She's 8 weeks old now!)
I'm also making a pair of socks for her, out of the same wildfoote in pinks with a tiny bit of orange. I have also finished a toy-wheel spindle with a walnut shaft, it should go pretty well, most of them do. Obviously I'm listening to stuff on Itunes, since you can see it on the monitor, which brings me to podcasts. My new absolute favorite podcast is Geek Farm Life, they are pretty fun. The folks who do this one, Andrew and Misty, are pretty cool. They have reminded me a lot of the time I spent living in southern indiana, in a tipi, then in a trailer. We had animals including one horse, about ten dogs, several cats, a snake, some geese, etc. we also tried to garden in the clay soil that's so prevalent in southern indiana and is only good for growing tobacco. it was an adventure for sure. that was the last year i spent married to my first husband, and the worst social experiment of my life. He had decided that we should try out the whole open marriage concept, and found someone willing to go with the flow. I wish I had hated her instantly, things might have gone differently if I had. Anyway, that was a long time ago, and far away. But the good thing is that listening to Andrew and Misty talk about their experiences on their small farm has helped me to get over the worst of the feelings I had associated with the farming part of my life at that time. anyhow, give them a listen, you can find them in Itunes. I've also been listening to Lime and Violet, they are truly hilarious, and spend more on yarn in a week than I spend in a month!
It's now mid-september, and Mom's birthday is just past, Happy Birthday Mom, your CD's are on the way! There are lots of september birthdays in my family, including mine, which will be this weekend coming up. I think I'm getting "big girl knits" from my hubby, since that's what I asked for. Anyway, fall is my favorite season, mostly because of Samhain, otherwise known as halloween, and today in Walmart we saw lots of halloween decorations, woo hoo! I'm really missing being in a house especially in the fall, I love to decorate for halloween. There were so many cool dark decorations available, I could hardly get over it. Since i've been in a creative mode, the other thing I finished this week is a postcard-sized drawing inspired by an announcement for a Dia de los Muertos postcard show. I'm giving the image here for you all under a creative commons license, free to use as long as you're not making any money off of it or claiming it as your own original work. I hope you all like it, it's just called "the knitter".
