life at the library is the same as always, just busier. weeding the children's fiction and trying to decide what new stuff to buy in addition to the stuff selected by our system selector.
zzzzzzzzzz...
Hey, wake up! I promise to stop the library talk, ok? OK!
Now, on to the real reason for living...knitting!
I got the directions for my TKGA masters level 1 course. shaking and trembling in my boots. none of them look difficult, and there's the rub my friends. i'm sure that there is much more than I'm seeing, or that they will be going over my work with a microscope and measuring stitch size in microns. AAAhhhhhh! help me, please!
I have the first four swatches done, and am pretty happy with them so far. the directions for swatch 5 are a bit ...interesting. it calls for a lifted increase, which i nearly never use. not only does it call for a lifted increase, it calls for doing mirrored lifted increases. I've knit a lot of things, and I'm sure that at some point in my life I have done these increases, but for the life of me I can't remember how to do them. I guess it's off the the great and powerful WWW. Of course, i'm trying to do this course with a handicap, all my books are in storage still. it's a good thing I work in a library huh?
Here are my swatches to date, most of them have been knit in a practice yarn, and then again in the "good" yarn. Not that you can see a lot of detail in these pictures, but you get the idea.
Now here's the other good news, we finally bought our own domain name, so I'm no longer stuck with a geocities address! you can find our website and other assorted fun at www.wanderingmoon.net woo hoo!!
My home page is pretty darn generic at the moment, but is due for a complete re-design again. I'll post it as soon as i get the redesign done. by the way, the geocities html tool sucks, i much prefer dreamweaver or even just notepad! My new years resolution is to try to post more frequently here, and to get off my butt and get some exercise! i've lost 20 pounds just by cutting out coca-cola and avoiding the french fries most of the time. time to lose the rest of this spare tire.
oh, back to knitting, I made Patrick a pair of gloves and a stocking hat, and this week he has actually needed to wear them! Texas never ceases to amaze me. thanksgiving weekend we went to San Antonio , saw the river walk and the Alamo, went to sea world, and petted the dolphins too. We totally enjoyed the Orca show, as they are my husbands absolutely favorite animal, not to mention his totem animal. here's my fav photo of one of them just meditating before the show. he sat there for a long time just floating like this. it was awesome.

Well, dear non-existant reader, I'm signing off now before I bore you to death. Have a good holiday whatever you celebrate. Personally, I'm hoping to have a good Yule. Peace!
