a week off and some holiday insanity

i have a week off! I got off work saturday at 6pm and don't go back until this coming saturday at 9am. I've been baking up a storm, two batches of cookies last night and will do three more today, maybe four. I've already been to the grocery three times for these cookies, and still don't have everything I need. so off I go to the store again today! to get more butter, and some containers to keep the cookies in, not to mention more chocolate!
then i have to think of something mexican meal-like to take to the branch christmas party on wednesday afternoon. no ideas so far on that account! anyway, i finally got around to reading some email and came across a link to a blog running a campaign against fun fur, Just don't do it, it's Muppet Murder!

you can find the associated public service announcement at http://knottygirls.com/jenla.blog/index.php/2006/12/05/public-service-announcement-2/

as for knitting, i've been working on my convertible shrug, i've almost got the first sleeve finished, then will have to start the second one, and worse, match it to the first! I did write down most of what I did, thank goodness. i'll post a picture when it's finished.

I have also finished a pair of the bobble baby booties from the latest interweave knits magazine, just have to felt them now. of course these were going to be christmas presents for Miss Lilly, my beautiful neice, but they won't arrive until after christmas. I guess we all have our insane holiday knitting. speaking of insanity, I better get back to the work for the minnowknits 2 party dress for said miss lilly, thank goodness it's big enough that she won't be able to wear it until next year, so i have some time.

We'll be cooking a turkey for our Yule celebration on thursday, and having a small observance late in the evening. should be fun. then of course we will do the christmas thing on Monday along with everyone else. Patrick is so excited he can't see straight. more updates later.

everyone have a happy holiday, no matter what you celebrate!
